Why Were the Anabaptists Not Chosen by Jesus in 1919?
by berrygerry inwt acknowledges their lack of neutrality during ww1, and previously stated that this was followed by a period of refining.
however, they were still the one group that far-and-away were the only ones that were practicing first-century christianity the most closely, as well as being the only group trying to do so.. interesting read about the hutterites ( http://www.ubcpress.ca/books/pdf/chapters/courtsandcolonies/chapterone.pdf ).

An update
by WeatherLover ini told my parents that i was considering taking some college classes, (of course they think that i mean at the community college) and that it would be a good idea for me to take the act (which i took on the 8th of this month).
i'm trying to take baby steps so it won't be a big shock to them all at once.
and just to make something clear, i'm not planning on starting college this fall, but instead i have my sights set on next year.. p.s.

Who Owns the Copyright to Crisis of Conscience?
by Hold Me-Thrill Me inrecently there was a thread where someone asked if there was a copy of crisis of conscience they could purchase.
raymond franz it seems had limited resources yet he was able to provide crisis of conscience in printed form to what?
thousands?

The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society did a good job conditioning us all to believe that FREEDOM and LIFE could only be found in the pages of a book.
Ray Franz is dead. His books lie lifeless in limbo.
"Is that dead which can forever lie?
In strange eons, will death itself die?" -- with apologies to H P Lovecraft

I have a big nose...
by The Rebel insurprisingly whilst hating being born with this over large nose, women have fallen in love with my nose.
so with regards to look and charm, what i hated about my physical attributes, many women have found attractive.
anyway i just wanted to say what we find unattractive about ourselfs, doesn't necessarily mean others do.

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.

Camilla: You, sir, should unmask.
Stranger: Indeed?
Cassilda: Indeed it's time. We have all laid aside disguise but you.
Stranger: I wear no mask.
Camilla: (Terrified, aside to Cassilda.) No mask? No mask!

Are JW's non- violent
by notalone inokay, i keep reading something and though jw's do not get involved in national wars, my experience has always been they are very violent people.
every convention i have ever been to was filled with children being beat within an inch of their lives for just not being able to take a third day of mind-droning silence without being able to move or now even sleep.
i have seen whole congregations laugh at stories of children being beaten and calling out to "jehovah".

No, they are not non-violent.
JW husbands beat their wives all the time and JW parents beat their kids all the time. Sometimes those receiving the beatings die, but there is always the resurrection.

Phizzy confessed, "First of all, sorry to ScenicViewer, i clicked "dislike" instead of "Like", apologies..."
Be at ease, O phizzious One, for you can UNDO the "dislike" by simply clicking "dislike" again. It is a very clever "digital toggle" that only allows a user to register ONE opinion rather than letting one user (me, for example) to overwhelm a user with HUNDREDS of dislikes. Our host, Simon Green is greatly to be praised for his insight into discussin-board psychology!

Thank you ScenicViewer. In time you will come to hate me like everyone else here. Until then, let's laugh and have fun.

I guess the REAL question is, "Who are more peaceful, the Anabaptists or Muslims?"
Anyone who doesn't answer correctly will be tossed off a muezzin's minaret.
